The much-loved Dhoom franchise is gearing up for its fourth instalment, and excitement is already building among fans. Reports suggest that Ranbir Kapoor is set to take on the central role in Dhoom 4, marking a fresh chapter in the blockbuster series that once featured Abhishek Bachchan in the lead.

Interestingly, new updates reveal that Yash Raj Films has approached a prominent Telugu star for a significant role in the film. While it is not yet clear whether this character will be a second lead or the main antagonist, speculations indicate that the South star could be cast opposite Ranbir. Previous reports also hinted that the makers are keen to introduce a powerful South Indian actor as the villain. However, no official confirmation has been made, and the actor in question has reportedly shown little interest in the offer.

The film is expected to be directed by Ayan Mukerji, a choice that has sparked mixed reactions from the audience. Some fans remain sceptical after his handling of War 2, with many believing that this could have influenced the lukewarm response from the Telugu star who was approached.

Alongside Ranbir, actress Sharvari Wagh is rumoured to be part of the cast, with whispers also linking Kiara Advani to the project. At one point, actor Suriya’s name surfaced as a possible villain, but that remains speculation for now.

Ranbir Kapoor, fresh off the massive success of Animal, has already proven his box office strength, and it will be interesting to see if he can replicate that magic in Dhoom 4.

The film is expected to go on floors in April 2026. In the meantime, Ranbir will be completing two major projects, Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious Ramayana, where he plays Lord Ram, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, alongside Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. Once those are wrapped up, Kapoor will dive into the much-anticipated YRF action-heist thriller.
