Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood and also one of the most followed social media personalities of India. While the actresses enjoy a huge social media following, they are likely to be questioned by the Mumbai Police in relation to the recently discovered fake social media followers scam.
As per the reports, Mumbai Police has been investigating social media mafias who sell fake and paid social media followers to high profile celebrities. Mumbai’s Joint Commissioner of Police, Vinay Kumar Chaubey, said that they have found over 54 firms who are in the fake followers business. A team has also been formed to further investigate the fake social media followers scam while a man has been arrested by the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) of Mumbai Police so far.
In relation to the reported scam, many renowned and high-profile influencers are likely to be questioned by the Mumbai Police. These influencers include Bollywood celebrities, sports personalities and bodybuilders among others who are under police radar. The reported 176 names also include the names of Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra being involved in the fake social media followers scam, likely to be interrogated by the Mumbai Police.
