Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have worked together in super hit movies like Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat, and every time they are paired together, they set the screen on fire. However, all these movies were shot when they were in a relationship but Kabir Khan’s upcoming biographical sports drama, 83, is going to be their first film together after tieing the knot.
In the highly anticipated biographical film, 83, Ranveer Singh will essay the role of former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev and he is currently shooting for the same in London. Earlier, there were rumours that Deepika Padukone has been roped to play the character of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Dev which has been confirmed recently.
In a conversation with the leading daily, TOI, Deepika Padukone expressed her excitement to work with director Kabir Khan and her husband Ranveer Singh. She said, “I am so glad that Kabir (Khan) came to me with it. This happened a couple of months ago when he was still casting the boys for the film. It’s just that I was busy with Chhappak and we were waiting for the right moment to make the announcement.”
However, Deepika Padukone also mentioned that no other actor could have done justice to the character of Kapil Dev but she would have played her part even if it wasn’t for Ranveer. She says that her personal equation has nothing to do with her professional workspace.
Besides Ranveer and Deepika, the film also stars Saqib Saleem, R Badree, Harrdy Sandhu, Chirag Patil, Pankaj Tripathi, Ammy Virk and Saahil Khattar as prominent characters in the movie.
