As the highly anticipated Disney movie Deadpool & Wolverine approaches its release next month, director Shawn Levy has revealed his dream team for future projects, sparking excitement among Deadpool fans.
The upcoming film, featuring the beloved Marvel Cinematic Universe characters Deadpool and Wolverine, has already created a fan frenzy. Levy’s plans to potentially team up the Merc with a Mouth with the straight-laced Peter Parker in future films is sure to excite hardcore fans even more.
In a recent interview with Total Film, Shawn Levy expressed his desire to see Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) team up with Spider-Man (Tom Holland) in future films. He believes the dynamic between the audacious Deadpool and the earnest Spider-Man would be fascinating.
Levy quipped, “The thing about Deadpool is I think he makes everything more interesting because of his audacity.” He added, “I feel like Tom Holland would run circles around everyone else.” Levy expressed his enthusiasm for the potential collaboration, saying, “I’d sure love to see Deadpool and Spidey. That’s a movie I’d love to make.”
Producer Wendy Jacobson also shared her excitement for future collaborations, suggesting a face-off between Deadpool and She-Hulk villain Titania. Jacobson believes the banter between Deadpool and Titania would be comedic gold, noting that Titania is one of the few characters who can go toe-to-toe with the Merc with a Mouth.
Jacobson explained, “She’s such a heightened, hilarious character and an actor who can improv, is razor-sharp, and can banter. I can’t imagine having to work opposite someone like Ryan Reynolds, who is so quick, smart, and funny all the time – but that woman could handle it.”
Meanwhile, the latest instalment in the Deadpool franchise will see the wisecracking superhero team up with the grouchy mutant Wolverine to save the Sacred Timeline, overseen by the TVA.
