Deadpool & Wolverine is packed with cameos from various universes, but there’s a special Spider-Man connection that even star Ryan Reynolds overlooked. The film’s stunt coordinator, George Cottle, revealed the surprising detail, leaving Reynolds astonished.

Potential movie spoilers ahead!

Released on July 26, 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine not only resurrects Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, who met a tragic end in 2017’s Logan, but also features numerous cameos from superheroes that had been sidelined by the studio. The merger of Disney and Fox in 2019 facilitated this crossover, culminating in 45 cameo appearances in the film.

One of the cameos, which flew under Ryan Reynolds’ radar, involved a connection to Spider-Man. During the film’s third act, featuring multiple variants of Deadpool, Tom Holland’s brother, Harry Holland, makes a surprise appearance.

On July 29, stunt coordinator George Cottle shared a behind-the-scenes photo on Instagram, revealing Harry Holland dressed as one of the Deadpool variants. The caption read, “When [Shawn Levy] and [Ryan Reynolds] set the bar so f’ing high, even the stunt team needed a special guest star! It may not be Holland the world wanted, but Holland was the Holland we all needed!” The hashtag #Haroldpool was included, with Cottle adding, “You smashed it, my friend.”

Ryan Reynolds was shocked to discover Harry Holland’s cameo, responding on his Instagram story, “This is how I found out?!? Can you tell me?” According to Variety, this isn’t Harry Holland’s first Marvel cameo; he previously appeared as a bicycle thief in Spider-Man: No Way Home, starring his brother Tom Holland.
