Based on the DC comics, Swamp Thing is a story about a man who came in contact with conscious plant life and turned into an elemental monster creature. Despite getting great reviews from the audience, DC Universe decided to cancel the show for many speculated reasons.

Produced by Len Wiseman, Gary Dauberman, Mark Verheiden, Michael Clear, and James Wan, Swamp Thing aired on the streaming network of DC just a week before starring Derek Mears, Crystal Reed and Andy Bean in the pivotal characters.

The reasons reported by many sources were the creative differences between the makers and the low popularity of the show since it is one of the most expensive series of all time. Another reason reported was the lack of funds. The state of North Carolina allegedly refused to give the promised rebate of 40 million American dollars to the producers of the series. It is a shock to many since the first episode of the show received mostly positive reviews, which is now the last episode of the series.
