Academy award winning director Danis Tanovic from ‘No Man’s land’ fame and Hindi film actor Emraan Hashmi’s much delayed 2014 International-Indian film ‘Tigers’ is all set to get a digital release on Zee5 online streaming platform.
‘Tigers’ chronicles around the life of a Pakistani salesman Ayan (Emraan) working for a baby food formula producing multi-national company, but is devastated and shocked when gets to know of infants dying because of the formula food he is selling to the families. Putting his career, life and relationships at stake, Ayan sets out courageously to expose the malpractices of the organisation that has lead to adverse health deterioration of babies and merciless death of infants.
The movie is based on a true life story of Syed Amir Raza, an ex-Pakistani Salesman of Nestle, who fought Nestle for 17 long years. Danis started working on the movie in the year 2006 and screened it for the first time in 2014 at the Toronto Film Festival, where it received massive appreciation. However, the team struggled to get a theatrical release for miscellaneous reasons.
The film also stars Adil Hussain, Geetanjali Thapa, Satyadeep Mishra, Zachary Coffin, Dany Huston, Supriya Pathak in pivotal characters. ‘Tigers’ will premiere on 21st November on Zee5.
In other news, Emraan is busy shooting for Netflix and Red Chilies Productions’ ‘Bard of Blood’ and ‘Cheat India’ by his maiden production.
