Comicbook based superhero character, Captain America, has been the crowd favourite and the credit goes to Chris Evans for making the live-action character alive. However, the 40-year-old actor passed his shield to Anthony Mackie in the Avengers: Endgame making him the next Captain America. Following the success of the Marvel Studios Disney+ limited series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Anthony is all set to get his own full-fledged movie.
According to Deadline, Anthony has been brought on board for the fourth instalment to the successful Captain America movie franchise and he will be taking the mantle forward. The movie is being penned down by Malcolm Spellman who created the Disney+ series featuring Anthony and Sebastian Stan. However, the makers are still looking for a director to helm the project.
It was widely reported that Chris Evans would be making a comeback into the MCU after his retirement plans in the last Avengers‘ movie. However, the latest report suggests that Chris has hanged his suit and Anthony will be headlining the future Captain America projects. It is yet to be disclosed whether Sebastian Stan will play a part in the movie. The movie will also mark the second MCU superhero to get a fourth movie after Thor live-action franchise.
