Sitarist, music composer and producer, Anoushka Shankar, has yet again made her name at the Grammys with her soul touching EP Love Letters. The nominations for the 63rd Grammy’s Best Global Music Album were announced on Tuesday with Anoushka Shankar amongst the noted names.
The composer took to her social media handle to express her excitement and achievement on making another nomination at the prestigious Grammy Awards. “We did it! I can’t believe Love Letters has been nominated for a Grammy!!! Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey both within and behind the music. Love you so much,” she wrote as she retweeted the nomination announcement by the Twitter handle of The Recording Academy.

The nominations had the eligibility period of September 1, 2019, to August 31, 2020, and her EP released in the first quarter of the current year. Love Letters is a collection of melodies and songs about love, heartbreak and healing and features artists like Ibeyi Alev Lenz, Shilpa Rao, and Ayanna Witter-Johnson among others. However, it is not the first time that Anoushka has been nominated at Grammy Awards. She has a total of six nominations previously and with Grammy 2021 nominations, the count is now seven.
