Aamir Khan’s recent outing Laal Singh Chaddha failed to live up to the box office expectations and had the lowest trend at the box office in over a decade for Aamir Khan’s movies. The movie was released on Thursday amid multiple controversies and boycott protests against the actor. While the cancel culture has calmed down slightly, a new discussion has emerged after a complaint has been filed against Aamir Khan for allegedly disrespecting the Indian Army.
While many industry experts and fans of the actor have been showcasing their love for the movie, the majority have expressed their displeasure and objection regarding the film’s content and casting. While some have taken objection to the casting, others are offended by the portrayal of the Indian Army. Amidst the trend of #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha, the Aamir Khan starrer is facing a legal complaint filed by Delhi based lawyer for disrespecting the Indian Army in the film.
The lawyer has filed a complaint against Aamir Khan, who is one of the producers of the film, along with filmmaker Advait Chandan, Paramount Pictures and other key members associated with the film. According to ANI reports, the lawyer has demanded an FIR to be registered against the Laal Singh Chaddha team under sections 153, 153A, 298, and 505 accusing the makers of hurting religious sentiments, insulting the Indian Army as well as using provocative content to cause riots and chaos.
Helmed by Advait Chandan, Laal Singh Chaddha is an official Hindi remake of the Hollywood classic Forrest Gump featuring Tom Hanks in the lead. The Hindi remake, currently running in theatres, features Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan as the lead pair.
