Colors’ popular stunt-based reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ hosted by the multi-blockbuster director Rohit Shetty, saw its season 9’s grand finale on Sunday.  The one who took away the winner’s trophy was none another than the very deserving choreographer-actor Punit J Pathak.

The show was shot in Argentina last year and aired from January 5th onwards this year. As always the winner wasn’t known to any of the contestants before hand and was only announced after months yesterday in the LIVE grand finale show on Colors channel.

To spice-up the grand finale, Bollywood action super star Akshay Kumar  had come to promote his movie ‘Kesari’, along with upcoming Colors’ reality show ‘The Rising Stars’ judges Shankar Mahadevan, Neeti Mohan and Diljit Dosanjh, who also graced the show to promote their show, raising the excitement levels of the finalists as well as the viewers. Akshay will soon be seen in Shetty’s cop franchise titled ‘Sooryavanshi’.

In the grand finale, Punit was contending against Aditya Narayan, Ridhima Pandit, Shamita Shetty and Aly Goni. The season has been a pretty exciting one, considering the casting was done pretty well, with some really entertaining contestants who kept you entertained throughout especially, comedian Bharti Singh.

The adventure- stunt task combination is the USP of the show which makes it one of the most loved  and successful reality shows in India. And since it is based on task performance and not online voting based on popularity, the show has earned its own unique credibility.

After weeks of performing back to back dangerous tasks, with difficulty level increasing with every episode, Punit, who emerged as the winner of the season was awarded with a Trophy, 20 Lakhs Cash prize and a Swift car.

The choreographer-actor will be soon seen in Remo D’souza’s dance franchise movie starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor ‘Street Dancer’.
