After giving box office shattering hits with Simmba and Gully Boy, Ranveer Singh is soon set to make us relive 1983, when the Indian cricket team under the captaincy of legendary Kapil Dev won the historic World Cup in England.
Directed by Kabir Khan, the movie ’83’ will take us through the Indian team’s World Cup journey lead by Ranveer as Kapil Dev.
The team has already begun their preparation and are currently being trained under the watchful guidance of Kapil Dev, Balwinder Singh Sandhu and Yashpal Sharma in Dharamshala Cricket Stadium, a glimpse of which was shared by the entire team on social media.

The entire cast and crew will soon be moving to England to shoot for their main schedule in May. The 1983 World Cup was India’s first ever win in the World Cup format. Along with being historic, it was an highly emotional moment for the entire country.
The ensemble cast includes Pankaj Tripathi (PR. Man Singh), Saqib Saleem (Mohinder/Jimmy Amarnath), Harry Sandhu (Madan Lal), Dhairya Karwa (Ravi Shastri), Ammy Virk (Balwinder Singh Sandhu), Tahir Raj Bhasin (Sunil Gavaskar), Dinker Sharma (Kirti Azad), Tollywood actor Jiiva (Krishnamachari Srikkanth), Sahil Khattar (Syed Kirmani), Chirag Patil (Sandeep Patil), Jatin Sarna (Yashpal Sharma), Adinath Kothare (Dilip Vengsarkar), Vijay Varma (Roger Binny), and R Badree (Sunil Valson).
83 is scheduled for 10th April 2020 release.
