A sequel to the blockbuster horror-comedy, Stree, the Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer has maintained its success in the second week at the box office surpassing SRK’s Jawan and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2. Exceeding expectations, the film managed to cross the 30 crore mark on the second Saturday and collected over 40 crore on the second Sunday, taking its second weekend total to an impressive 93.85 crore.
In its extended 8-day opening week, Stree 2 earned a total of 307.80 crores. On the second Friday, it maintained strong momentum with 19.30 crores with positive word of mouth from the audience. The following Saturday saw a significant boost with 33.80 crores, and the film continued its impressive run on Sunday with 40.75 crores.
With a remarkable total of 93.85 crores during its second weekend, Stree 2 has set a new record for the highest second-weekend collection in Hindi cinema history. It has surpassed Gadar 2’s 90.47 crores with a margin. Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor is in third place with 87.56 crores followed by Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan ranking at fourth with 82.46 crores.
Currently, Stree 2 stands at a net collection of 401.65 crores in India, surpassing Aamir Khan’s Dangal (387.39 crores) to become the 7th highest-grossing Hindi film in Indian box office history. It is set to soon overtake the Hindi version of KGF Chapter 2 (434.62 crores).
