HIT: The Third Case, also known as HIT 3, may not have broken records, but it’s proven to be a solid performer at the Indian box office. Despite its momentum slowing down, the Tollywood thriller has maintained steady collections, enough to not only become the highest-grossing film in the HIT franchise but also mark a significant career milestone for its lead star, Nani.
The film opened to mixed reviews but managed to cover its production costs and earn profits, which is no small feat in today’s competitive market. As of now, the box office run is tapering off, with third-weekend earnings dipping below ₹2 crore. According to Sacnilk, HIT 3 has raked in ₹78.41 crore net in India over 18 days.
While it’s unlikely the film will cross the ₹85 crore mark, its success has helped Nani quietly achieve something impressive — his total post-pandemic box office collection has now crossed ₹300 crore in India. This puts him in an elite group of Tollywood stars with consistent box office pull.
Since the pandemic, Nani has had six theatrical releases. Starting with Shyam Singha Roy (₹37.09 crore), followed by Ante Sundaraniki (₹21.60 crore), Dasara (₹81.93 crore), Hi Nanna (₹49.22 crore), and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram (₹63.15 crore). With HIT 3 adding another ₹78.41 crore, Nani’s total post-COVID domestic box office collection stands at a remarkable ₹331.40 crore.
This achievement puts him ahead of Tollywood veterans like Nagarjuna and Venkatesh in the post-pandemic race. Nagarjuna’s films have collectively earned ₹93.65 crore during this period, while Venkatesh’s tally sits at ₹269.86 crore.
For Nani, often referred to as the “Natural Star,” this milestone reflects his growing popularity and box office reliability — and confirms that he’s more than just a consistent performer; he’s a bankable star in the current Tollywood landscape.
