Final Destination: Bloodlines is rewriting box office history for the franchise, officially becoming the highest-grossing film in the series with a global total of $187.13 million — and it’s not done yet. The sixth instalment is on track to hit the $200 million mark soon, possibly during its third weekend in theatres.
Thanks to a strong Memorial Day performance in the U.S., Bloodlines climbed to the #3 spot on the domestic box office chart. Over the holiday weekend, it added $4.8 million on Monday alone, pushing its domestic total to an impressive $94.6 million.
Internationally, the film pulled in $23 million during its second weekend, even with a drop of around 55% from its opening. That brings the international total to $92.5 million, bringing the global tally to $187.13 million.
This milestone means Bloodlines has officially overtaken 2009’s The Final Destination, which held the previous record with a lifetime global haul of $186.16 million. Made on a $50 million budget, Bloodlines has already surpassed its breakeven point of $125 million and is now generating solid profits for the studio.
