Salman Khan is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming movie, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, amid the Coronavirus crisis and medical resources scarcity. While all the filmmakers have decided to postpone the release of their movies, Salman Khan believes that his movie can bring some positivity and temporary relief from the stress to his fans.
While it was earlier announced that Salman Khan starrer will be released simultaneously over OTT platform and traditional theatres, there are not many theatres operational at the moment. Many states of the country and abroad have announced partial or strict lockdowns to curb the spread of the virus and Salman Khan believes that the box office collection of his film will be very poor.
Addressing the same, the megastar said, “The box office collection of Radhe will be zero. This will be the lowest ever for a Salman Khan film. Let people be happy or sad with that. It is releasing in very few cinemas in India, overseas also the number of theatres are less than usual. So the box office collection will be very poor.”
He further apologized to theatre owners who were expecting a crowd in their theatres with his release. “I apologise to cinema owners who were hoping to earn profits with the release of this film. We waited as long as we could, hoping that this pandemic would end and we would be able to release in theatres all over the country. But that did not happen. We don’t know when things will go back to normal,” he said.
Salman Khan also said that if the movie is received well by the audiences, the makers might consider re-releasing it on the big screens after the pandemic is over. Helmed by Prabhu Deva, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai features Salman Khan in the titular character along with Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda in the key roles.
