While the entire world is suffering from the Coronavirus pandemic, renowned Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor has been tested positive for the deadly virus becoming the first Bollywood celebrity to have contracted the disease. Issuing a public statement on her social media handle, the Baby Doll singer announced that she is tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.
The 41-year-old singer took to her official Instagram account to inform her fans about her condition and urged everyone to be a sensible citizen amid the viral outbreak. On her social media account, Kanika Kapoor shared her selfie along with an image of earth wearing a face mask and wrote, “For the past 4 days I have had signs of flu, I got myself tested and it came positive for Covid-19. My family and I are in complete quarantine now and following medical advice on how to move forward. Contact mapping of people I have been in touch with is underway as well.”

Kanika Kapoor travelled to London lately and had arrived in Lucknow on the 15th of March where she showed no signs of the infection. However, she developed flu-like symptoms four days ago and went for the test of Covid-19 which unfortunately resulted positive for the singer. Kanika Kapoor urged her fans to keep calm and follow precautionary measures in order to contain the outbreak while she informed about her condition. “I am feeling ok, like a normal flu and a mild fever, however we need to be sensible citizens at this time and think of all around us,” the singer added.
While Kanika Kapoor is completely cooperating with the authorities to contain the infection and track people she came in contact with, she has been admitted to the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) hospital in Lucknow for treatment and isolation.
