For those unfamiliar, Dalljiet’s ex-husband and actor, Shalin Bhanot is a participant in the show hosted by Salman Khan. The couple had a contentious split. But now, Dalljiet is grabbing headlines for a positive reason. After 8 years after her divorce from Shalin Bhanot, she decided to give love another chance.
The actress from Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon is preparing to marry UK-based finance company employee Nikhil Patel in March. After the wedding, she will relocate to London with her 9-year-old son Jaydon. Dalljiet stated in an interview with the Times of India that the wedding is set for March and she is still figuring out many details. They will initially move to Nairobi, Africa where Nikhil is currently stationed for work, before eventually settling back in London where he was born and raised.
The 40-year-old TV actress further shared that she met Nick at a friend’s party in Dubai last year. During their conversation, she talked about her son and he spoke about his two daughters, 13-year-old Aariyana and 8-year-old Aanika. She was struck by his pride when he showed off his blue toenail polish and said he was a proud dad of two girls. At that time, there was no romance between them, just two single parents having a chat. Love developed over time, as their love for their children brought them together. While Anika lives with her mother in the US, Aariyana will reside with them.
Regarding her decision to give love another chance, Dalljiet stated, “My biggest fear was that I shouldn’t make a wrong decision. However, as I was picking up the broken pieces of my life, along with realising how much Jaydon missed having a dad, it was also about me missing a companion, which I didn’t feel earlier. I am in love with Nikhil and can feel butterflies in my stomach every time he calls me. I never thought this would happen. I always thought that I would marry first and then fall in love.”
The actress, who is set to relocate to the UK, also addressed her plans to continue her acting career. She stated that she has signed a couple of projects and is ready to return to Mumbai. It was reported that Nick will take care of the kids when the actress travels, and she will reciprocate the same when he is travelling for work. Despite having many fears, the actress believes that everything will be great as Nick will be there to support her throughout the process.
