Bhool Bhulaiyaa has been an iconic horror comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja in the prominent characters and after a decade, the makers have decided to revisit the comedy-drama with a stand-alone sequel. It was earlier announced that the sequel to the blockbuster movie will see Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani as the lead pair and now the director has confirmed more details about the project.
Renowned writer and director Anees Bazmee, who will be taking over the director’s hat for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, recently opened up to the rumors relating to the horror-comedy in a recent media interaction. Talking about the fresh pair of Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani, the filmmaker said, “Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani look terrific together. A fresh pair and that too a good-looking one is a big plus.”
While the sequel will revamp two popular tracks from the first installment of the series, Anees Bazmee confirmed that the sequel will be a completely different story with no relation to the Akshay Kumar starrer. “This is a completely different story; besides the title we have taken two songs from the original, the title song and the Bengali song. That apart, our film is completely original,” he said.
Ever since the news of a sequel to the blockbuster horror-comedy surfaced online, there have been rumors that Akshay Kumar will be making a short cameo in the Kartik Aaryan starrer. However, the filmmaker shunned the rumors and said that Akshay Kumar would not be able to make the speculated cameo. “Akshay is a very big and very busy star. To justify his presence in a cameo is not possible. I don’t think we will be able to accommodate him. But I am sure he wishes us all the best,” he said.
