Renowned comedian Bharti Singh has been arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau after seizing drugs from her residence. While the NCB is conducting a thorough investigation in the alleged drug nexus in the Indian entertainment industry, comedian Bharti Singh’s name had emerged during the interrogation of a drug pedler. Following the cue, NCB conducted a raid at the comedian and her husband’s residence on Saturday.

As per NCB officials, a small quantity of cannabis was seized from the comedian’s residence in Mumbai post which she was taken to the NCB office along with her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa for questioning. After hours-long interrogation, the latest media reports inform that Bharti Singh has been arrested by NCB under the NDPS Act while Haarsh is being examined.

The report further states that the comedian and her husband have confessed to having consumed cannabis apart from procuring drugs at their residence. Bharti will be produced before the court on Sunday. The NCB said in a statement, “In follow up and in corroboration with previous inputs, NCB raided two places on 21.11.2020 including production office and house of actor-comedian Ms Bharti Singh and from both the places, 86.5 gms of ganja was recovered.”

“Both Ms Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiya accepted consumption of ganja. Ms Bharti Singh was placed under arrest as per the provisions of NDPS Act 1986 and examination of Shri Harsh Limbachiya is underway,” NCB further added in the statement.
