In the last week of 2025, Indian actor Salman Khan treated his fans with the highly anticipated teaser of his upcoming military action drama, Battle of Galwan, based on real incidents. The teaser was released on the 60th birthday of the seasoned actor and unveiled the first look of Khan as a determined Indian Army Officer ready to clash with a swarm of advancing Chinese soldiers.
Helmed by Apoorva Lakhia, the patriotic action drama is based on the events of 2020, when Indian and Chinese troops clashed in the Galwan Valley on the Indo-Sino border, saluting the indomitable spirit of India’s frontline soldiers. With the prohibited use of firearms like guns and explosives owing to longstanding bilateral agreements between the two nations, the troops were left with clubs and stones as weapons and defence in the deadly hand-to-hand skirmish.
It was earlier noted that Salman Khan will be essaying the role of real-life hero Colonel B. Santosh Babu, who was killed in action when leading a ragtag group of Indian soldiers outnumbered against the Chinese troops. In the teaser, Salman’s character appears in a weathered look, injured yet determined, getting ready for the fight in conditions where restraint, resolve, and sacrifice become the ultimate weapons.
The 1-minute 12-second teaser, released on 27th December, received mostly positive reviews for the theme and the presence of Salman Khan and his group of supporting actors. So far, the teaser has clocked over 22 million views on Salman Khan Films’ YouTube channel alone, making it one of the most anticipated Indian movies of the year. Alongside Salman leading the movie as actor and the producer, the film features Chitrangda Singh, Abhilash Chaudhary, and Ankur Bhatia, among others, in key roles.

Battle of Galwan is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 17, 2026, making it one of the biggest releases in the first half of the year. Given the emotional weight and patriotic resonance of the film, Yash Raj Films had postponed the release of Alia Bhatt-led spy thriller Alpha to avoid a clash with the megastar.
Salman Khan has had massive hits in the past, but his recent outings have seen mixed results. Battle of Galwan promises to change the trajectory with a story that matters to a broad audience. Salman Khan is involved in the movie as the producer, hinting that the stakes are high for the actor and he is leaving no stone unturned to make it one of the most-talked-about and potentially impactful films of the year.
