The curtains are finally pulled off the most awaited biopic of 2019 on Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray with the trailer that released on Wednesday. The trailer featuring Nawazuddin Siddique in the titular role has already taken over the trending list and become the talk of the town within few hours of its release.

Written and Co-produced by Sanjay Raut, who also happens to be an active member of Shiv Sena, the trailer of the movie opens into a riot scene in Bombay, tracing the rise of one of the most influential and controversial leader Indian Politics had ever witnessed, who feared none and spoke his mind. The trailer spanning almost 3 minutes also shows Amrita Rao, portraying the character of his wife Meenatai Thackeray.

Amrita  last seen in ‘Singh Saab The Great’ is making her come back in movies  after a long hiatus. Nawaz who is essaying Thackeray on screen is makes a compelling impact through his body language and strong resemblance with the character and the trailer promises to thrill you with its realistic appeal.

Directed by Abhijeet Panse, the movie unfolds the bold and brave history of supreme BalaSaheb Thackeray who laid the foundation of his own political party Shiv Sena in 1966, fighting to the edge for the interest of Maharashtra, its people and culture.

‘Thackeray’ is the third biopic in a row played by Nawazuddin after ‘Manjhi’ and ‘Manto’, which were critically acclaimed and the actor did legitimate justice to the characters.
