Every movie buff in the country is aware of the success of the Baahubali franchise and fans of the series were elated with the announcement of a prequel series sheltered at Netflix. While the fans couldn’t wait for the web-series to stream, the makers scrapped the completely-shot show and asked to re-shoot it.
Reportedly, the streaming giant was not impressed with the produced 9-episodic prequel of Baahubali and scrapped the entire shot-videos which had cost the producers around 100 crore INR. The makers decided to re-shoot the entire series with a new crew and cast. According to a source close to the development of the project, the streaming giant has now allotted a new budget for the making of the show which is double the original budget.
The reportedly allotted budget for the re-shot Baahubali prequel web-series is said to be a gigantic 200 crore INR on the top of the original 100 crore INR which was exhausted in the scrapped shoot. The script has been reworked with new additions to the crew and it is touted to be the first Indian web-series to be mounted on such a scale.
While there have been no updates on the new cast of the show, the first version had Mrunal Thakur as the central character, Sivagami, and it is uncertain if she will be a part of the new version as well.
