Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to step into the shoes of Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian cricket captain, in an upcoming biopic directed by Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth. The highly anticipated project is slated to commence filming in December.

In a recent report by Mid-Day, it was revealed that Ayushmann Khurrana, who happens to be a left-handed batsman like Ganguly, has been chosen for the role due to his uncanny resemblance to the cricketing legend. Producers are confident that Khurrana can authentically capture Ganguly’s on-field persona. However, to delve into the cricketer’s life beyond the stadium, Khurrana will undergo intensive training.

According to an insider close to the film, Khurrana will embark on his training regimen next month in Mumbai. This preparation period spans over two months, providing ample time for the actor to immerse himself in Ganguly’s character before the film officially commences production in December. It’s worth noting that Ganguly himself has had discussions with Khurrana regarding the biopic.

Produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, the film brings together two talented individuals known for their exceptional contributions to the entertainment industry. Luv Ranjan, acclaimed for directing hits like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, joins forces with Ankur Garg, recognized for producing successful films such as Stree and Bala.

On Ayushmann Khurrana’s professional front, he is currently gracing the screen in the sequel to his popular film, Dream Girl. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl 2 features an ensemble cast, including Ananya Panday, Paresh Rawal, and original cast members like Manjot Singh, Vijay Raaz, and Abhishek Banerjee.
