Indian actor Arun Govil is best known for playing the character of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan that telecasted on the television in the 1980s and is considered one of the most successful mythological runs in the country. Arun Govil gained a huge recognition for his portrayal of Lord Ram and he is still synonymous with the character. After decades, he will be reprising his character for a Bollywood movie led by Akshay Kumar.

According to the latest report, Arun Govil will be playing his popular character of Lord Ram in the second instalment of the much-popular franchise, Oh My God. As per the source close to the development of the movie, Akshay Kumar insisted to bring Arun Govil into the team to portray Lord Ram as he believed no other actor is more recognizable than him to play Lord Ram. However, an official announcement is yet to be made.

Talking about the sequel, Oh My God 2 will bring together Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar as their respective characters from the franchise. The movie will also feature Yami Gautam in a key role. While the first movie targeted blind faith and religious malpractices, the sequel helmed by Ashwin Varde is supposed to highlight the shortcomings of our education system.
