Voot Select’s crime-thriller, Asur, is one of the most successful web series of India and after the great response, the makers had decided to start working on the second instalment. It was earlier reported that the sequel will feature the lead casts from the first season in a follow-up story and Arshad Warsi has already begun shooting for Asur 2.

Arshad Warsi, who impressed his fans with his charismatic performance in the first season, will be reprising his character of Dhananjay Singh in the sequel. Sharing his excitement on returning to the sets of the show, the actor said, “I am overjoyed to start shooting again. As far as my career goes, Asur is one of the best things that has happened to me. It was my digital debut & with season 1 being a huge-hit, I am very excited to see how people will respond to our new season.”

Talking about the pressure to taking the show to the next level with the second season, Arshad added, “As we start shooting again, the entire team is motivated and is working extremely hard to take season 2 to the next level. When you have a successful first season, there is always a sense of pressure and nervousness. But that is the best kind of pressure, which keeps you motivated to deliver better and bring out the best in all of us.”

The first season of the crime thriller, helmed by Oni Sen, featured an ensemble cast of Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, Ridhi Dogra, Anupriya Goenka and Sharib Hashmi among others. The show managed to create hype for its content and we are excited for more twists and turns in the sequel.
