Singer Armaan Malik has collaborated with music producer KSHMR and Korean-American singer-songwriter, Eric Nam, for the single called “Echo”. He opens about what the track is all about.
Armaan says that the number highlights unclarity in a relationship which results in pushing partners off the edge.
He recalls that Echo was incepted when he met KSHMR in Los Angeles before the global pandemic. KSHMR had played some unreleased material including ‘Echo’. and it just stuck in Malik’s head and he recorded his demo verse at the producer’s studio itself.
Then sometime in the middle of 2020, he says that Eric and he had little interaction on Twitter and they ended up becoming internet friends. Later their teams connected to discuss a potential collaboration and the track they all vouched for was ‘Echo’.
The song has been released through Indian-American DJ and KSHMR’s record label Dharma Worldwide. The producers say that Echo was initially a demo that he began years ago, but wasn’t exactly sure of how he should finish it until he met Armaan. Armaan added the voice and story to the song which was the perfect fit. Eric, on the other hand being so talented lent his craziness and made it a cross-country Asian collaboration.
Eric Nam feels excited to be a part of this song with Armaan and KSHMR, especially as it has seen a release during the month that observes and celebrates the AAPI Community. He feels grateful that they got the opportunity to share this with the world and how it has helped in creating a healthy collaborative moment across continents and cultures.
