After the phenomenal success of Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer, Kabir Singh, the original Telugu language blockbuster, Arjun Reddy, gained recognition in the Bollywood industry as well. While Vijay Deverakonda has been receiving big banner scripts in Bollywood, the lead actress of the Telugu film, Shalini Pandey, has been locked to her debut in the industry.
As earlier informed, Shalini Pandey will be making her debut in Bollywood under the banner of Yash Raj Films and will be seen sharing screen space with energetic Ranveer Singh in Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Confirming the same, producer, Maneesh Sharma, said that the plot of the movie required a fresh face to play the leading lady and after Shalini’s audition being spontaneous and nuanced, they immediately finalized her for Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
“She is an assured actor with a refreshing presence, and we have real confidence in backing her talent. She’s really going to catch your attention in Jayeshbhai Jordaar,” said Maneesh. Shalini Pandey started her acting career as a theatre artist and gained enormous recognition for her acting prowess in the Telugu blockbuster, Arjun Reddy.
Sharing her excitement to mark her Bollywood debut under Yash Raj Films banner, the actress said, “Being given the opportunity to be signed on as a talent and also being cast under the Yash Raj Films banner is truly any artist’s dream. I’ve been blessed with this huge chance to show my mettle in the Hindi film industry and I’m incredibly thankful for it.”
Written and helmed by Divyang Thakkar, Jayeshbhai Jordaar stars Ranveer Singh as a Gujrati chokro and is expected to release in the last quarter of 2020.
