Released in 2014, Mohit Suri directorial thriller drama, Ek Villain, was an instant hit amongst the cine-goers and a success at the box office. While the dark thriller starred Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Ritiesh Deshmukh in the prominent characters, the makers are working on a sequel to the blockbuster movie with a completely fresh cast. Ek Villain 2 was earlier announced and the makers have now locked on to the major cast for the second instalment of the franchise.

While it was earlier learnt that the movie would have John Abraham and Aditya Roy Kapur pitted against each other, Kapur walked out of the movie after having creative differences with the script. The latest development around the production reveals that the makers have zeroed down to Arjun Kapoor to replace Aditya Roy Kapur and play the part. Apart from Arjun and John, the movie will star Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria as the female leads in the Mohit Suri directorial.

Post the movie announcement, the sources touted it to be spectacular actioner built on a lavish scale with high-octane and adrenaline pumping and action setpieces. Arjun Kapoor has reportedly started his training for mammoth fight sequences with John Abraham as the production is expected to go on the floors by the end of the current year. If everything works out as expected, Ek Villain 2 will mark the second outing for Mohit Suri, Ekta Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor after Half Girlfriend. Meanwhile, Arjun and John will also share screen space in Kashvie Nair’s untitled project.

Helmed by Mohit Suri and bankrolled by Ekta Kapoor, Ek Villain 2 is touted to be built on a bigger canvas than the first instalment of the movie franchise. The action-thriller will star Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria in the prominent standalone characters.
