It was earlier informed that Arjun Kapoor and John Abraham are coming together for the first time for a cross border love story. The movie, which is to be helmed by debutant director Kaashvie Nair, went on the floors without an official title and there have been many reports that the makers have locked on to a title for the upcoming drama.
The earlier reports suggested that the movie has been titled Chale Chalo but it came out to be a sarcastic rumour as the project started its production without a working title. As per a source close to the development of the movie, the makers have zeroed down to the title Sardar & Grandson which is considered apt for the plot of the movie. John Abraham who is playing an extended cameo with Aditi Rao Hydari is playing a Sikh character while Arjun Kapoor is to play his grandson in the movie.
The movie was to complete its production earlier this year but due to the pandemic and government-imposed nationwide lockdown, the movie was delayed. The makers resumed production in the month of August with the portion of John Abraham and Aditi Rao Hydari which is set in the year of independence. Helmed by Kaashvie Nair, the movie stars Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh as the lead couple.
