After the success of the iconic revenge thriller, Ek Villain, the makers announced a sequel with an entirely new cast and the fans have been excitedly waiting for the same. The mantle will be carried forward with John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria in the leads and after a long wait, the makers have finally locked onto a release date for the movie.

Ek Villain Returns was earlier scheduled for a release on February 11, next year, but after the makers of Aamir Khan-led Laal Singh Chaddha moved their release date to February instead of Christmas, the makers of Ek Villain 2 decided to push the movie further being the sport. Sharing the new release date, Arjun Kapoor shared a new movie poster on his social media handle and wrote, “Iss baar eidi villain dega! Tareek aap yaad rakhna – 8th July 2022. #EkVillainReturns on EID 2022 (sic)”.

Earlier, filmmaker Luv Ranjan had shared that the filmmakers shall follow a protocol in the release schedules after the theatres re-opens in October and praised Aamir Khan’s decision to gracefully bowed out of his traditional Christmas spot. “Now that the movie theatres in Maharashtra are finally re-opening there are producers who have been patiently waiting in line. They will have to be given the right of way. It is the decent, morally correct thing to do. One can’t jump the queue,” he had shared.

Helmed by Mohit Suri, Ek Villain Returns promises more action and revengeful drama in the second instalment of the franchise with Arjun Kapoor, John Abraham, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria taking the leads. The movie will be released on the occasion of Eid next year, 8th July 2022.
