Punjabi singer AP Dhillon became an international sensation after the humongous success of his single, Brown Munde, and his recent concert in Mumbai made headlines. The star-studded concert at the five-star hotel in Mumbai saw many Bollywood celebrities grooving to the beats but the organizers attracted the attention of authorities for violating COVID norms and an FIR was registered. Following that, the highly anticipated concert of the singer in Delhi has now been cancelled by orders of Delhi Civic Body.
The concert was organized as part of a restaurant launch at Andaz Hotel in the national capital’s Aerocity area where a gathering of 500 guests was expected on Saturday. However, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) intervened and asked the organizers to cancel the show in wake of the ongoing scare of the new Coronovirus variant. Following the norms and understanding the sensitivity of the pandemic, the organizers decided to pull the plug from the show on the last day and issued an apology to the guests.
The Delhi Civic Body had asserted that if found in violation of the COVID norms, the event organizers would be booked under Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, Section 188 of IPC and other applicable laws for putting the public in danger the spread of the pandemic. The organizer has informed that they will start issuing refunds to the ticket holders of the cancelled show.
