Anushka Sharma and husband Virat Kohli had earlier informed their fans that they are expecting and on Monday’s afternoon, the couple welcomed their first child. Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli took to his social media handle to break the good news with a short note in English and Hindi.
The cricketer announced that they are blessed with a baby girl and requested everyone for privacy. The note read, “We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat.”

For the uninitiated, Virat and Anushka tied the knot in December 2017 in a destination wedding in Italy. To add their joy, they announced that they are expecting their first child last year. Anushka Sharma has been on a hiatus from work while husband Virat Kohli also opted for paternity leave to take care of his wife and the child.
