Indian actor John Abraham acquired the Hindi remake rights of the Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum in the year 2020 and the fans have been anticipating more updates on the project. However, it was later reported that the Hindi remake produced by John Abraham’s production house was put on the backburner. The latest developments favour the project and we might see filmmaker Anurag Kashyap giving it a commercial touch.
If the reports are to be believed, John Abraham didn’t feel content with the script prepared by Jagan Shakti and the movie was halted just a month before it was scheduled to go on the floors. The latest reports suggest that the actor has approached Anurag Kashyap to helm the project and rework the script for the Hindi audience. Kashyap has reportedly accepted the challenge and started working on the script already.
If everything goes as expected, the movie will likely go on the floors by October this year with John Abraham leading the project. The film originally starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Biju Menon in the lead roles and revolves around the conflict between Koshy Kurien, an influential and wealthy ex-Havildar, and Ayyappan Nair, a Sub-inspector in Attappadi.
