Since the lockdown last year, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has become the epitome of controversies. The actress, who loves to force her opinions on everything under the sun, has been accused of copyright infringement by the author of the book, Didda: The warrior Queen of Kashmir.
Ashish Kaul, the author of the book on the life of Princess of Lohar (Poonch), has accused Kangana Ranaut of using the story of his book without his permission. Kangana had recently announced a sequel to her 2019 historical drama and used parts of Ashish Kaul’s book in her tweet about the upcoming movie, Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda.
“Is it believable by any stretch of imagination that a story and a book are being usurped by a renowned actor- turned-social activist?” Ashish Kaul said accusing Kangana of copyright violation. Following his request, the Bandra Metropolitan Court ordered the city police to register an FIR against the actress. Reportedly, an FIR has been registered under IPC sections 405 (criminal breach of trust), 415 (cheating), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and also under the Copyright Act against Kangana.
