Television actress Ankita Lokhande and late Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput, rose to fame with the much-loved daily soap, Pavitra Rishta. The show was loved for the chemistry between the on-screen and former off-screen chemistry of the two and it became one of the most talked-about Indian television shows. While Sushant Singh Rajput had quit the show to pursue a career in Bollywood, he was replaced by Hiten Tejwani for the rest of the runtime.
The plug for the show, Pavitra Rishta, was pulled off in 2014 but it remained as one of the most memorable shows and after the unfortunate and untimely death of Sushant Singh Rajput, the show is planned to be revamped. The makers of the show are planning to recreate the magic and launch a second season of the show soon. Ankita Likhande has been approached to reprise her character of Archana in the second instalment while the team is searching for a fresh face for Sushant’s character.
While Ankita has agreed to play her part in the iconic show, the makers are planning to introduce a fresh face in the place of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput instead of bringing an already established actor. It is certain that Hiten Tejwani, who played the character of Manav for around four years after the exit of Rajput, is not returning for the second season.
Pavitra Rishta 2 is currently in the pre-production stage and the makers are working on the rest of the cast of the show.
