Veteran actor Anil Kapoor is reportedly roped in to play a key role in Aditya Chopra’s Spy Universe headlined by Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. Over the decade, YRF Spy Universe have expanded and included many prominent Bollywood faces making it one of the biggest IPs in Indian cinema. With Anil Kapoor joining the bandwagon, the fans are elated to see top stars under one roof.
According to a report by Pinkvilla, Anil Kapoor has signed a multi-film contract with YRF to star in the Spy Universe as the head of R&AW. Kapoor is reported to be impressed with the vision of Aditya Chopra in curating different stories merging together under one timeline and joined the crew when approached. The veteran actor known for his energetic performances is reported to have a minor appearance in the upcoming actioner War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr. and Kiara Advani. His character development will be followed by Alpha, featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, and eventually lead to Pathaan 2 with SRK and Deepika Padukone.
It is being reported that Anil Kapoor’s character will be consistent and omnipresent across the entire upcoming fleet of movies under the YRF Spy Universe. While some of the movies are under development or announced, the makers are continually working to expand it and include more crowd-winning characters in the future.
The next release in the series will be Ayan Mukerji directorial War 2, which is slated for a release on Independence Day next year. It will be followed by Alpha helmed by Shiv Rawail, which marks the first female-led movie in the franchise. The most anticipated movie, Pathaan 2, which will feature an onscreen face-off between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, is currently under wraps and no release date has been announced by the production house so far.
