The controversy queen of Bollywood, Kangana Ranaut, faced the wrath of micro-blogging website Twitter after she commented on the current agitated after-polls violence in West Bengal. While the social media platform suspended the actress indefinitely, repercussions of her tweet continued. In the series of responses, designer Anand Bhushan has pledged to never work with the Panga actor.
Taking to its official social media handle, Indian design label Anand Bhushan released a statement against the actor. The statement read, “In view of certain events today, we have taken a decision to remove all collaboration images with Kangana Ranaut from our social media channels. We also pledge never to be associated with her in any capacity in the future. We as a brand do not support hate speech.” The caption of the post read, “Do the right thing.”

For the uninitiated, Kangana Ranaut took to her Twitter handle to condemn the acts of Mamta Banerjee’s government after the recent assembly election results. However, known for her controversial statements, her tweet can be easily speculated as instigating communal violence as a response. Twitter was quick to take action against her tweet given her popularity and suspended her account citing a violation of their Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy.
After the suspension, a Twitter spokesperson said that the suspension of her account is permanent because of her behaviour that has the potential to lead to offline harm.
