Actress Amyra Dastur on social media opens up about her father’s battle with Covid-19. The actress says how she’ll never forget that feeling of utterance terror and helplessness that instilled in her.

Amyra posted a thread of pictures with doctors and healthcare workers and informed that her father was admitted into the hospital on the 12th of May 2021. She says that it started off as fever and a mere cough but developed into pneumonia even though he was tested negative in all his medical tests. Her father’s oxygen saturation dropped and his body gave way to seriousness to an extent where he had to be moved into the ICU. It was a touch and go over that weekend.

The actress says that she will never forget that feeling of helplessness which at this time most families in India are experiencing. She says that the doctors were able to stabilise his condition by the 17th of May but he yet had to undergo other medical tests which basically lead to him needing a double bypass that was conducted in Masina Hospital.

Grateful, that her father is back home now and recovering, she thanks the amazing doctors and nurses who ensured that he fought everything smoothly, and truly took care of him. Additionally, she praises them by calling them heroes and appreciates how they are working long shifts with constant hope in their eyes for all their patients.

She also believes that the violence against doctors must end and requests everyone not to harm the doctors or nurses. She says that recognises the feeling of seeing their loved one almost taken from them, and can only try to imagine the sufferers some families have gone through. She says that she has no idea what she would do if she lost her father but attacking doctors and nurses definitely doesn’t serve justice.

Concluding she says that the medical examiner’s are truly working their hardest and they need our support too so they feel encouraged. She advises against hurting the people who are risking their lives to save ours.
