Renowned filmmaker R Balki is currently working on a thriller movie with Sunny Deol and Dulquer Salman in the leads and has been in the news lately for the developments. While the plot of the movie remains under the wraps, the filmmaker confirmed the cast and reunion with megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
Talking about the movie, R Balki confirmed working with Sunny Deol for the first time and said that the role required an understated machismo. “A man of a few words whose presence alone makes people pay attention to him. Sunny can command respect without raising his voice or fists. I wanted that personality for this character,” said Balki. He further talked about working with Dulquer Salman and said, “Dulquer is one of the most talented actors today. I wanted to work with him for the longest time. This thriller requires Dulquer presence.”
When asked about Amitabh Bachchan’s role in the yet-to-be-titled thriller, Balki said that his presence would be decisive. “He has to be there. I’ve cast him in every single film of mine beginning with Cheeni Kum where he was the lead to Padman where he made a special appearance. In my thriller, Mr Bachchan will come in at a crucial juncture in the plot. I’d never cast him just for the sake of casting him,” he further added.
Along with Big B, Sunny Deol and Dulquer Salman, the R Balki directorial will also feature Pooja Bhatt in a key role. The movie is expected to go on the floors soon with an interesting ensemble cast.
