Coronavirus halted the entire entertainment industry after the World Health Organization declared the viral outbreak a pandemic. While the filmmakers and leading film bodies have decided to suspend all shoots from March 19 to 31 as a safety precaution, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions may shelve its highly-anticipated projects which were recently announced by the production house.
As per a source close to the development of the future movies under the Dharma Productions, Karan Johar’s magnum opus project, Takht, had always been an endangered project owing to its star cast and controversies related to the content of the project and the writer. While the Coronavirus led to the suspension of the pre-production of the movie, the source suggests that the suspension might end up being permanent.
Following the fate of Takht, the recently announced sequel to the blockbuster comedy-drama, Dostana, may get shelved as well. Dharma Productions recently closed its office temporarily amid the Coronavirus scare and it might re-structure the fate of its upcoming projects which also includes the recently announced Deepika Padukone and Sidhant Chaturvedi starrer.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi had to be postponed due to the ongoing global threat of the viral outbreak. Bankrolled by Dharma Productions and Rohit Shetty, the cop-drama was earlier slated to release on the 24th of March.
