Shahid Kapoor has been a busy actor post the enormous success of his last release, Kabir Singh, and made the actor on every producer’s list. While Shahid recently completed the shooting of his upcoming sports drama, Jersey, he has been making waves for his highly anticipated digital debut with the OTT giant, Amazon Prime Video.
While the news was out months ago that Shahid Kapoor has signed a deal with Amazon Prime Video to mark his digital debut, the OTT platform made an official announcement on commencing the project. To be helmed by filmmaker duo, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the yet-to-be-titled series will be featuring Shahid Kapoor in the lead with many surprising casts yet to be revealed.
“Shahid Kapoor is an incredibly gifted actor and we are excited to have him join the Prime Video family with a brand new exciting collaboration with Raj and DK. This is a fresh and unique combination that we’re confident will be a hit with our customers,” said Vijay Subramaniam of Amazon Prime Video India.
Sharing his excitement for the digital debut, Shahid Kapoor said that collaborating with Raj and DK had been on his list for a while and he has been a fan of the web series, The Family Man, which is another collaboration between the filmmaker duo and Amazon Prime Video. “I loved the story idea when I first heard it and since then it has been an exciting ride so far! Can’t wait to share this series with the audience,” he added.
