Alia Bhatt is set to explore the youth genre with her next production under Eternal Sunshine Pictures, in collaboration with Amazon Prime Video and Chalkboard Entertainment. The untitled film is described as a coming-of-age story set against the lively backdrop of an Indian college campus.
Marking her directorial debut, Sreeti Mukerji will helm the project after previously assisting Ayan Mukerji on Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Brahmastra. Industry sources describe the film as being “in the zone of Wake Up Sid, but from a girl’s perspective,” promising a fresh and relatable take on ambition, friendships, and self-discovery. Filming is scheduled to begin in October.
This will be Alia’s first feature film project with Amazon Prime Video, following her work as executive producer on Richie Mehta’s acclaimed crime drama series Poacher. Speaking about her journey as a producer, Alia has said that producing allows her to tell stories she believes in and support fresh creative voices.
She made her production debut in 2022 with Netflix’s Darlings and is also backing the adaptation of Manju Kapur’s novel Difficult Daughters, which will be directed by her mother, Soni Razdan.
On the acting front, Alia will be seen alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, slated to wrap by December and release in June 2026. She is also part of Maddock Films’ horror-comedy Chamunda, releasing the same year, and is in discussions with Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin for a high-concept, female-led project.
With this campus-based film, Alia Bhatt continues to expand her creative horizons, delivering fresh stories that connect with a new generation of audiences both as an actor and a producer.
