Bollywood star Alia Bhatt is set to embark on an exhilarating new journey as she joins Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) expanding spy universe. Fresh off completing her latest project, Jigra, Bhatt is poised to dive into a high-stakes role in a yet-to-be-titled film. The YRF spy universe, which already boasts names like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Katrina Kaif, will soon welcome Bhatt with a standalone venture.

According to a report from Mid-day, Bhatt will take on the role of a super soldier, requiring intense physical preparation. To do justice to this action-packed character, she has committed to a rigorous two-month training regimen with top specialists. The film’s shooting schedule will kick off in late July, extending over four months and spanning multiple locations in India and abroad. The team aims to wrap up filming by the end of the year.

The project will start with a bang, featuring Bhatt in a high-octane action sequence right from the get-go. Reports indicate that YRF Studios in Andheri will be her base for an initial month of intensive training. Here, she will tackle a challenging action set-piece in the early days of filming. She will be joined by co-star Sharvari Wagh, who plays her sister in the film.

A source revealed, “Director Shiv Rawail has lined up several fight sequences for the first phase. Following her introduction, Alia will move on to another major action sequence that teams her up with Sharvari. Aditya Chopra is ensuring the Mumbai shoot remains secure and undisclosed, with a limited crew to maintain secrecy.”

The action sequences won’t be confined to Mumbai alone. The source also mentioned that the actresses’ spy adventures will take them around the world, with the UK being the next major filming location. Here, veteran actor Anil Kapoor will join the cast, playing the mentor to Bhatt and Wagh’s characters.

In addition to this spy thriller, Alia Bhatt’s upcoming slate includes Vasan Bala’s Jigra, scheduled for release in September 2024, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, set for a Christmas 2025 release.
