Akshay Kumar is on a spree with back to back big banner movies. While the actor is promoting his next release Mission Mangal which is slated to a release date of 15 August, he already had SooryavanshiHousefull 4Good News and Laxmmi Bomb in the pipeline. Last week, Akshay Kumar announced Bachchan Pandey and now the director of his upcoming movie Mission Mangal has announced another project with him.

Director Jagan Shakti revealed the project titled Ikka starring Akshay Kumar in dual characters. The movie is said to be an official remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kaththi which starred Vijay and Samantha Akkineni as the lead pair. Akshay was supposed to start the project earlier but after he decided to get onboard for Mission Mangal, the remake was put on backseat.

Ikka will focus on the social issue involving suicides of farmers driven by corporate encroachment. Talking about Ikka, Jagan Shakti said, “It will resonate with the underprivileged section of the society. With my second directorial, I want to explore action which is presented in a sleek way.”

While Akshay is currently busy with his ongoing commitments, Ikka is expected to go on floors soon.
