Akshay Kumar has had a busy 2025 with four releases, each performing better than most of his post-pandemic outings. However, there’s been one common thread: none have managed to fully recover their budgets yet. His latest release, Jolly LLB 3, is currently the closest to crossing that finish line.
The black comedy courtroom drama continues to show resilience at the box office. On day 38, the film earned an estimated ₹25 lakh, marking a 25% jump in collections on its sixth Sunday. Despite facing tough competition from Thamma, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, and Kantara Chapter 1 (Hindi), Jolly LLB 3 is still managing to draw in viewers, although at a slower pace.
The film’s total India net collection now stands at approximately ₹116.88 crore, with a gross of ₹137.91 crore including GST. By today or tomorrow, the movie is expected to surpass Jolly LLB 2’s lifetime total of ₹117 crore, making it the highest-grossing instalment in the franchise.
Starring Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, and Saurabh Shukla, and directed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 3 was reportedly made on a budget of ₹120 crore. So far, it has recovered about 97.4% of its costs, needing just another ₹3.12 crore to enter the safe zone and be declared a success.
If it achieves that, Akshay Kumar will finally break his dry spell at the box office, scoring his first hit of 2025.
Here’s how his 2025 report card looks so far:
- Sky Force – Budget: ₹160 crore | Collection: ₹134.93 crore
- Kesari Chapter 2 – Budget: ₹120 crore | Collection: ₹94.48 crore
- Housefull 5 – Budget: ₹225 crore | Collection: ₹198.41 crore
- Jolly LLB 3 – Budget: ₹120 crore | Collection: ₹116.88 crore*
