Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar recently had his much-awaited outing with the spy thriller, Bell Bottom, and marked the first movie to be released in the theatres after the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic. While the movie is still struggling to pull the crowd in the difficult times, the makers are already planning for a sequel to the movie.

In a recent media interaction, writers of the movie, Aseem Arrora and Pasveez Shaikh, opened up on the possibility of turning Bell Bottom into a franchise and said that the open ending of the movie will help take the story forward. The writer’s duo said that Akshay Kumar is fond of the movie and wants to turn it into a franchise with sequels in the near future. However, there has been no script so far.

Aseem said that the ending of the movie was pre-planned and it was not there to introduce future sequels. “It’s not a gimmick and the character layers are pronounced in every single scene of the film. This was organic. However, we are yet to crack a story and we are trying to do something. Let’s see if the things fall into place,” he added.

Helmed by Ranjit Tewari, Bell Bottom features Akshay Kumar as the protagonist with Lara Dutta, Vaani Kapoor, and Huma Qureshi among others in key roles.
