While shooting for films and other production activities are halted since mid-March in wake of the viral pandemic, renowned Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar resumed shooting for an advertisement with filmmaker R Balki. The shooting took place at Kamalistan Studio for the Health Ministry while following the necessary precautionary norms.
Filmmaker R Balki informed that the shooting was for an advertisement campaign regarding the post-lockdown responsibilities and said, “This is an ad for the health ministry featuring Akshay Kumar about the post lockdown responsibilities of each one of us. We need to get back to work but ensure our safety and those of others. So at our shoot we did the same.” The shooting took place at a sanitized set with the minimal possible crew and ‘very strict protocols’.
“Anil Naidu, the producer, showed us how we can do the same shoot with fewer people with maximum safety ensured. Of course, we had all the permissions of police etc. We needed to do this as this messaging was extremely important,” added R Balki. Meanwhile, shootings for films and other production activities continue to stay suspended as per the government guidelines.
On the movies front, Akshay Kumar will next be seen as a cop in Rohit Shetty directorial, Sooryavanshi, which was scheduled to release in March but was postponed due to the Coronavirus scare and promote social distancing. Akshay Kumar also has Laxmmi Bomb, Prithviraj, and Atrangi Re in the pipeline post-lockdown.
