Kartik Aaryan took the lead in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which drew mixed responses from fans. While some felt that Akshay Kumar’s absence was a significant loss, Kartik’s supporters were eager to see him carry on the franchise’s legacy. In a recent interview, director Anees Bazmee opened up about the possibility of Akshay making a cameo, stating, “I wouldn’t think twice about reaching out to him.”

In his conversation with News18 Showsha, Anees expressed his comfort in contacting Akshay for a potential role, highlighting the close relationship they share. He mentioned, “I feel I have the right to approach him. If there’s a character or cameo that fits him, I would definitely consider it.”

Anees clarified that Akshay couldn’t participate in the sequel for unspecified reasons, emphasizing that neither he nor the producers wanted to pressure the actor into involvement.

Reflecting on the mixed reactions to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Anees acknowledged the scepticism surrounding its success. He recalled the challenges faced during its release, despite the positive buzz around the teaser and trailer.

He remarked, “The thought of a sequel without Akshay was tough. But we approached Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with a lot of heart. Once it came out, people embraced Kartik just as they had Akshay.”

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, featuring Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit, is set to hit theatres on November 1, 2024. Meanwhile, if reports are to be believed, the makers have already begun planning for the fourth instalment of the horror-comedy franchise.
