Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer ‘Kesari’ based on the Battle of Saragarhi is all set to fill hearts with the spirit of bravery and patriotism. Directed by Anurag Singh and produced by Dharma Productions, the team recently wrapped up their shooting schedule in Jaipur.
The actors took their social media handles to share their intriguing looks from the set and also announced the date of their movie release.
Akshay will be seen putting the story of Havildar Ishar Singh, leader of the 1897 battle against Afghans on big screen. The actor shared a picture of himself in his character look and a tweet that read, “And its a wrap for #Kesari…A film which swells up my chest with immense pride. See you in cinemas on 21st March 2019”
While Parineeti who is playing the love interest of Akshay made her excitement very transparent when she wrote “Anytime I watched a war movie, it was the love story of those brave men that kept me going…so proud to be a part of this epic experience!!! Thank you Akshay Sir, Kjo and Anurag sir for allowing me to be a part of your vision”.

The movie is based on the historic event of 1897 battle of Saragarhi, where the Sikh regiment led by Havilder Ishar Singh fought for hours against thousands of Afghan tribesmen even when they were outnumbered.
After ‘Singh Is Kinng’ and ‘Singh Is Bliing’ it will be the third time when Akshay will be seen donning the avatar of a Sikh character, where as it will be the first time when Akshay and Parineeti will be coming together on the big screen as a couple.
The movie is all set to hit the theatres on 21st March 2019.
